A poem that captures the thoughts and feelings of longing for a lost parent; and for me and anyone who may know my fathers story ; how he did not realize how dearly he was loved by anyone that knew him; if only briefly ; he just had a way of magically endearing himself in a forever way...he was peter pan once..and he taught us how to fly ..who could forget that?
I reach out to touch you
To grasp your hand
Like a child
L.A. stopped loving you
New York didn’t want you
But I did
I see you sometimes
In dreams
Or in a picture show
Emptiness is all I see
When these pictures I gaze upon
Because you are not
There
Or
Here
You told me you would make your way
Back to me
But you never got here
I look up at the stars

Lovely words and deep emotions. His is a very tragic story. A great light, shaded and turned out too soon. THE WINDOW is one of my favourite movies. A classic of its type. I know it was made in 1947 and shelved, but then released the year I was born - 1949. The movie also serves as an historical window. It captures that age very well. Bobby Driscoll had great talent, and this is a very lovely poem to his memory.
Children will enjoy reading and hearing about the silly antics of a puppy still learning how to be a good listener. This story is about Riley, a cute, little, rescue puppy who gets into all sorts of predicaments.
She was quite capable of taking care of herself...She appreciated everything he was doing for her and the Grandmothers Four, but she needed his help, not for him to take over.
