The Grandfather pt1
Back in the day the old Ladies would say
Don’t follow your husband to relocate out of town
He’ll move you away from your family then put you down
Did your Grand Father contribute to this rumor
Was it your Great Grandpa or Great-Great
Who wants to admit the truth be cautious of the shame it may create
One man played the game so hard
He told lies to shy from child support and cussed out His kids in the yard
He moved from the South to the North
Treated his family like the dirt he Walked and Spit on
How could a man treat his family so bad
Laughing when his kids had no food and sad
He should still be thanking my Step Grandfather
This man stepped in and gave his kids a better life
And married his wife
Life is too short to dwell just learn from it
And let your brain cells swell
Today it doesn’t matter things got better
The Lord didn’t leave my Grandmother out in stormy weather!
