A baby girl came my way
On a bright September morn
It was my greatest day
The day my daughter was born

Your big blue eyes and downy fair hair
Your skin so soft and clear
Coming into this world without a care
For us to hold so dear

I look at photos and feel the emotion
The pride of being your Dad
But then I didn’t sense the notion
Of the best day, I had ever had.

I look back over the years
And feel the love inside
I remember the laughter, never the tears
I remember the feelings of pride

Now you have grown up and you’re a wife
With a baby on the way
And when you bring forth that life
It will be your greatest day

You made a family of your own
