There are simple things in life with values Far more than you can imagine Like a generous hello or a small grin Like telling someone you love them Or just being there for someone that needs a friend Because you never know how that will affect them It could bring a smile to a lonely soul Or help someone’s self esteem to grow But on this tragic day all these things were priceless As families and friends join together to fight this Unbelievable tragedy that affected the hearts of many Fathers, mothers, sisters, brothers Aunts, uncles, cousins and friends Even some loved ones I didn’t mention Had to face the fact that their loved ones are no longer here Just the thought of that bring me to tears But as a whole not a half our county can get through this With God on our side we shall succeed And stand strong as the red in our flag That symbolizes the fight for unity and the bloodshed

This is a very heart felt piece -- I first debuted to Authors Den with a 9.11.2001 epic titled Seasons of Black September. This is well written.

it affected ALL nations, cultures, humanity--not just americans.

but i must disagree a bit with deborah's statement--"...because if this were God's country, it would be a kingdom of peace." Israel is God's country, the Jewish people are His Chosen, why isn't Israel at peace? Just a thought...

And the blue for Liberty. It not only affected Americans. I felt the tragady down here in Australia enough to write a book, which I did. I never personally knew anybody in WTC but I and many of my countrymen felt your pain. We have to learn from this so that they didn't die in vain. Tolerence, understanding and love. Wasn't that the message that Jesus left us? Nice write Kenya.
