The moments as they pass we are often unequipped to view them in the millisecond frames they truly represent.

<|><|><|>

faucet runs
no steam vaporizes
yet. she hums

french. purple
kimono. pink silk.

vibrant vigor-
he glances,
a listening ear.

he rests,
calloused hands
atop airy mattresses.

no complaints.
lamp teeters

over his shoulder.
little jewels, drip
from shades

his initials,
fresh etchings.

scarlet paints,
drip from vessels.
she cooks now.

she sees a kitchen.
she sees her stove.

he reflects.
candy egg decorations
line a coffee table.

furnace rattles
its own beat. silence.

comfort. solidity.
altruistic causes rest
on the book shelves.

she shuts the door.
he turns off the light.

Very accurate. Great poetry captures and explains more than science...
So much happening and so much emptiness too.

SO much caught in what is between the lines and moments, very very good.

... this balances thought and actions beautifully, and captures more than the milliseconds of moments... whole worlds of east and west, male and female are captured in between. More than that, you have also left out as much, if not more, than you have said, which is always the mark of great poetry. In this X-ray snapshot, we can see the flesh on the bones and the wide-screen picture: no language tapes needed! :)) TY Kate xx

Somewhat cabalistic and colorfully imaged. Delightful! Yes ... if we could trap a moment we could spend the rest of our lives dissecting it. A good thought process here Donna.

Short lines that read quick
But haunt you for hours.
Have to agree with Gerard on that line.
What a great poem.
