a reassurement, is always nice

There Are Two Shadows Now

Out the door and down the steps, a new days journey is about to begin.

Stepping lively and quickly, as if walking on air, it’s all about the journey, the destination? Who cares?

You see, if I may give you some history if I could, these trips were a burden, a task, simply unfulfilling, just things that had to be done.

The difference back then, to the joy I now have, is the lady that accompanies me, when ever I leave home.

Off hand in hand, never straying far from each other, just the knowledge she’s there is more than enough.

If ever those old days start creeping back in to my mind, I just have to turn and see what is following me.

Now there are two shadows instead of one.

Bear

Epiphany by Gary Stephens

“We’re going to use nine megaton warheads in space and we’re not sure they’re large enough to be effective. Why would you even consider using kiloton-range surface-to-air warheads as back-up?” The answer was succinct. “Because they’re all we have.”
