Mercy

A passing word in verse be heard,
of life seek your reward.
Please understand, that every man
can wield a mighty sword.

Cry those tears, release your fears,
on each the rain must fall.
What can be lost, undue remorse,
tomorrow won't recall.

Ink has dried, eyes have cried,
another dawn awaits.
You must cope, don't lose hope,
mercy seals your fate.

In sweet refrain, that which remains,
is sought on common ground.
All that's told, can not behold,
a view if it's not sound.

Paul,
This is inspirational. I especially enjoyed the first stanza. Reminds me of how folks say You can be anything you want to be. Love and Hugs,
Sheila

Wonderfully constructed poetic verses here, Paul, and the message truly inspirational. Hope and love are much, but we all need to know mercy and forgiveness, too, otherwise our world-view can become skewed and twisted. The giving and receiving of forgiveness is almost as powerful a thing we can do for each other as to give and receive love. A magnificent piece, thank you. Kate xx

Remember Paul in wielding the sword - there is always someone to face that is mightier. This must make us pause and reflect on our proclamations. Bill

Mercy and love are often interchangeable qualities, and, as
others have commented, sadly lacking in the world.
This was a lovely write, Paul.

Cry those tears release those tears. So true, by talking about ones fears, the fear loses so much power.

Excellently uplifting...
