Clarity’s Fire
When she got clear, she dropped the lie,
No mixed signals or reasons why,
It wasn’t chaos, it was control,
A way to keep her chasing whole.
He too was lost, but wears the guise,
Of strength that only masks his ties,
He feeds her hope, then pulls away,
Just enough to make her stay.
She asked for truth, he gave her doubt,
Casting blame, inside out,
She begged for calm, he gave a storm,
Was she too much for wanting warm?
She blamed herself, again and again,
Convinced her hurt was hers to mend,
Thought maybe she was just too loud,
Until she saw what he allowed.
His silence wasn’t calm, but cold,
A fortress built that made her fold,
Each time she spoke, he’d make it wrong,
She’d shrink herself just to belong.
The worst was not the words he said,
But how she let them fill her head,
Believed that love should feel unsure,
A trial she thought she must endure.
But clarity won’t bloom in smoke,
So she stepped back, from ties that choke,
She stopped explaining to a wall,
Stopped shrinking just to feel it all.
His effort never matched her fire,
His comfort couldn’t take her higher,
And once she saw her worth as clear,
No empty words could hold her there.
