FRIDAY THE 13TH lyrics

Why did you have to leave me on Friday the 13th
why didn’t you believe me on Friday the 13th
I said that I’d always be true
I didn’t Do what you thought I do
what’s in my heart I thought you knew
on Friday the 13th

On Thursday we were fine
we laughed all the time
I was yours and you were mine
on Thursday
but now it’s turned around
the world is upside down
we’ve lost we had found
on Thursday

Tomorrow will be better
if we just stay together
If we stick to the letter
of love
Friday will be a memory
A dark day in our history
Remembered as a mystery
Like days before the flood

Don’t be superstitious
The future looks delicious
The past was something vicious
I know

And we’ll get through it somehow
And forget just where we are now
If the faith will just allow
where the winds must blow

An interesting lyric that speaks not necessarily of lost love, like most, but a loss of confidence in ourselves and the future. Very timely.
