MELANCHOLY HEART lyrics
by JOEL SATTLER

I was born a rambler too
just like him and just like you
here we three sit by the fire
dreaming of our heart's desire

under a wide and cloudless sky
with the heavens open wide
I'm done with lying, done with crying
I've cried all the tears I'm gonna cry

don't wanna die
with a melancholy heart
let me know love
as I did from the start

let sleep where I rest my head
let me know peace before I'm dead

here we are we are there
500 miles from the next nowhere
I'm tired of travelling
with nowhere to go
just to play another show

a melancholy heart
beats in me
a lonely moon
is all I see
of all that is
I am a part
a single man
with a melancholy heart

don't wanna die
with a melancholy heart
let me know love
as I did from the start

let sleep where I rest my head
give me peace before I'm dead

So many of us come to the point of an incurable melancholy heart. So the song resonates with that population no longer loved and no longer free.
