the air has gotten still
the sky grey
the humidity peaked
thunder approaches
I am full of anticipation;
anticipation as for
a fiery lover.
Great Lakes thunder storm
born of the clash of fathomless
oceans of the air --
their roiling tryst high above,
the inland seas engenders
sure and certain proof of
creation’s unrivaled power.

i live the highest condo in The Bronx, and can see the entire area including long island, westchester, and queens ... when the thunderstorms roll in its some sight ... excellent poem, John ... good to read you again ...
Sounds a bit like the storms off the coast on NJ...I do love storms over the water & when I was young and knew I would live "forever", I used to walk in the water, just up to the tops of my feet and feel the electrical current from the lightening that hit the ocean further out...chills was not the word for it...ed
I love this, John. It reminds me of the fierce summer storms of northern Alberta when I was a child. The thunder literally shook the small house we lived in. Thunderstorms are few and far between out here on the west coast. Love and peace to you,
Peace,
Dayvid
