What has happened, how can it be?
I seem to have lost pieces of me
my family has taken and I didn't mind
they also have given, been gentle and kind

I feel so scattered in many directions
no control, this life no longer mine
I need to become focused
where do I start, what will I find?

So much has been taken
nothing left behind
someone always needing
more than I can give

I'm calling back the pieces
so they return to me
I will soon be whole again
for all the world to see
