One of my old high school poems from 1994.

The candle's burning down
I know the time has come
I will leave before the day.

The walk will soon prove hard
But I don't belong here now
I must travel on my own.

I seek no more revenge
I know now I must be free
They don't know me anymore.

My roving soul can't stay
And they all call it suicide
But I can live upon a dream.

I know they call me simple
But my old life was a lie
And the hypocrites don't know.

As I walk, I'll travel light
I will carry only hope
I will leave all doubts behind.

They can't hold me back forever
Since the moon will guide my way
And a silver wolf will guard me.

I'll befriend the deer and hawk
When I run, I soon will fly
I'll find courage and respect.

The candle's burning down
I know the time has come
And I know I will survive.

My mom says ‘If you can’t say anything nice then don’t say anything’. Sorry mom but under the guise of poetic license I penned these beauties.
