The snowflakes are delightful lacy twirls
of crystal cascades to the tip of my nose
and the tip of my laced shoes
Through the doors of the antique book store
a dim kerosene lamp glowed as the shopkeeper
looked up from his rimmed glasses
Books neatly displayed and in alphabetical..
on the top shelves.. may I climb
the ladder to look there, over there
A gold emblem on the end book caught
my eye...oh, these high top laces and
ok...tip toe ...I've got it
Gently opening the Christmas Poetry
book with guilded gold edging the
print faint
The handwritten scroll was simply
beautiful with an author
my great-grandmother
Not to mind now how that poetry
came to be in this quaint bookstore
on Christmas Eve
Easy does this ladder shaky
purchasing the small Victorian
Christmas book is tendered
A photo of great-grandmother
beauty she was in winter
white fur
A lovely hand written note
"I shall love you forever my dear"
treasure this Christmas Eve
Snow light, dim glow
kerosene lamp of the
bookstore, Christmas Eve
"The Snowlight of Christmas"
