Our Valentine Baby Girl
In February, 1979, a baby girl
was born into our lives.
She was our beautiful Valentine,
perfect in every way and seldom ever cried.
As a toddler she had chicken pox.
Even so, her behavior was always the best.
She rarely, if ever,
pur our fragile nerves to the test.
As all parents think
elementary school came much too soon.
Our beautiful little blonde girl
was starting to be 'cool'.
First it was T-ball.
To the out field she went.
While waiting for a hit to come her way,
she'd pick flowers or just sit.
Next came karate.
When those tiny little hands
would strike a board
in two peices it was sure to land.
In Middle School
she soom became
a hard working water-girl
for the 8th grade football team.
Rah, rah, rah,
was to come next.
As a cheerleader,
she was, of course, the best.
High School was a challenge
that she redily met.
She was growing up, soon to be on her own.
But, oh no, not just yet.
Cheerleading, Cross Country Track
Homecoming and Prom,
often chauffeured to and fro
by someone's deal old mom.
On high school graduation day,
so very filled with beauty.
She was ready to take on the world
and fulfill her grown-up duty.
She's a wonderful daughter
of whom I'm quite proud.
She's kind and thoughtful,
beautiful inside and out.
Soon a young bride,
she is to become.
She and Keith Dean
are to be joined as one.
May they have
happiness galore
and love to last
at least a century or more.
BTW, Kung Fu is much better than karate. :)
