Sitting in the depth of one’s own self Calling down to the world from upon the shelf Neither minding nor caring for tomorrow today Wondering just why it’s here that I stay Then seeing your face from across the room Feeling your love take away all the gloom Allowing your smile to warm me inside No more from myself do I want to hide Wandering alone from corner to space Alone with myself is generally the case No talking, no touching, just myself and I At times just wanting to curl up and die Then thinking of you and the feelings we share Needing so badly to hear that you care Knowing you love me fills me with pride Thankful each day for the pathway we stride.
