As a follow on from my last write, I have decided to write a series of Memories, I hold dear to heart ❤️ between my Dad and Me.

 That Darn Bumble Bee

By Ch'erie

When I was just a little one

About the age of three

In my room each night

I was plagued by

A Giant Bumble Bee!

I would not go to sleep

Was sure it would sting me

I'd cry and carry on

Plaguing Parents endlessly

Coz of that scary Bumble Bee

No sleep was had

Despite desperate plea

It only left

When to their Bed

I did flee!

That was not ideal

It had to be sorted

Whatever was wrong

Must be thwarted

But it's still there I'd squeal!

Frustration set in

Dad vowed to find

What on earth was this

For he was Kind

Also very Tired!

He sat on my bed

Listened a while

Suddenly it clicked

" think I know what's wrong

He said with a Smile.

He lifted me up

To the meter box went we

Showed me the relay

Said " there's your Bee

Do you you see?

I listened a while

As in his arms I was safe

Looked at the wheel

Going around in its place

Oh said I, "

That's my Bee"?

Well all was well

It was trapped in a case

"It can't get out here"

Imagine my Face

Imagine Dads Face!😀

He kissed me goodnight

Reassured was I

Haha old Bee

My Dad got you

There was peace within, Finally!!

Hes my Hero I whispered

Quietly!.

This is so sweet as a child would feel and then her hero, her daddy came to the rescue and all ends with smiles. I enjoyed this Ch'erie. I wrote one years ago my grandson cried because he lost his shadow. I have been back on AD for the past month writing my poetry. I missed the den so much.

Such a sweet story. Thank God for those Fathers who cared for their children, who nurtured them, and effectively (and intelligently) redirected their fears, so their imaginations wouldn't produce bad fruit. You were blessed with a kind of hero that many children never experienced. I certainly didn't. Thanks for sharing. Hope you're well. Peace... rlc

So delightful to remember that from your childhood and write it into a poem. I had to smile at the ingenuity of your father to figure out how to trap that bumblebee in your mind. and how beautifully you told us what happened in your poem.

You reminded me of the time my partner, Beh, and I visited our parents at their northwoods cottage on a lake. Fortunately, they had a spare bedroom that normally wasn't used for us to sleep in. But soon after we went to bed, I felt something crawling on my neck and it stung me! can't swat anything, least of all something on the back of my neck…

I turned sharply and yelled "Beh! Beh!" To tell her to swat the bee for me she woke up but was confused about what I was asking when I realized that the bee was no longer moving that I had killed by rolling on it. My father came to the room hearing all of my calls and the confusion. We turned on the light and discovered that it was a hornet. And dad killed a couple more in the room. In spite of that, we slept. In the morning, dad discovered a hornet's nest had formed just outside the unused bedroom. So it wasn't bees at all.
