Crack cocaine, the most evil substance known to man

Poem Artwork

How the f*** can I explain,

Why I caused you so much pain

Everyone was stealing me

Smoke so thick, I couldn’t see

I saw your lips, but couldn’t hear

I didn’t understand your fear

I felt your eyes pleading with me

But the smoke was thick, I couldn’t see

Trying to clear my mind by day

But at night,

the slime came out to play

I didn’t believe, they were using me

But the smoke was thick, I couldn’t see

Then through the smoke, I heard your voice

‘You’re giving me what?’, ‘A f***ing choice?’

I did not!... Have I been so blind?

I cleared the corridors of my mind

See my tears, they’re drowning me

The smoke was thick, I didn’t see

In my life you’re all that matters

I’ll work hard to mend the tatters

I’ll prove how good our life can be

The smoke has gone,

I’m here, its me!

Good to be in freedom to express those troubles. I have to agree that crack is a very evil and addictive drug; I was never addicted, but I have seen so many people who are addicted that I have come to know them very well. They truly have an adjusted belief system, due to their use of crack and its effects. I am sure that you have much more to express regarding the experience and that you have many more foreful expressions to sacrifice to its details. Great writing, and glad that you have pulled yourself above this evil. Keep rising, friend!

There are many addictions, and there are many cures...The key is to find the a reason behind the addiction and the cure will be there in the clarity of that realization..

This is a very powerful poem, reaching for forgiveness and redemption..

Peace, love and light,
Amber

this brings tears to my eyes David
especially the closing lines...

"The smoke has gone,
I'm here, its me!"

and it is as though silence is the echoic messenger
listening...its so utterly sad and empty to feel it...
a very emotional statement & yes those wicked drugs
them monkey weights...

Very powerful write, David! I cannot imagine how it feel to have such a horrible addiction. My brother died of an overdose when he was only 38 years old....too young to die...but a lifetime of drugs, etc. took him away....

Say Something Terrorible v3 by RickthePoetWarrior

My mom says ‘If you can’t say anything nice then don’t say anything’. Sorry mom but under the guise of poetic license I penned these beauties.
