Lies can be cast with malicious intent
'White ones' so called, when the truth is just bent
But lies are the substance of heartache and grief
Whatever the reason, they'll bring no relief
Unspoken truths are just lies under construction
Made manifest when aware of your fallacious deduction
If you say one thing and mean another
Is that not a lie, just undercover?
And what of you? Who seems so offended?
Yes you, with the judgemental finger extended
Is it true no falsehood you never have spoken?
Or perhaps mine are real lies, while your's are just token
I'm a liar, I'm sorry, a sinner for sure
But the forgiveness I seek comes not from man's law
But your hypocrisy cuts me, right to the bone
Didn't someone once say, "…let him cast the first stone"?

I like the gradual shift that takes place as the poem progresses; for me, it becomes more meaningful and spiritual with each stanza, and ends wonderfully.

mirror but it is great to do so! I still remember my very first lie!
I remember it because it made me feel so incredibly awful.
Lies are masterful trickery to steal from another the values
of worth that the deceived deserve in their life...which is honesty.
It is a horrible truth to feel when someone has lived a lie-
when in fact they thought it was the truth...
I collect those stones
