All the lovely poems about the rose inspired my thoughts.....

Poem Artwork

It may be a painful prick to fingers,
or a silky smooth touch to the lips;
a beauteous tribute to romantic love,
or a yearning sadness to loss that rips
your heart from its mooring secure.

'Tis the color of blood, the river of life,
on a jewel-green stem as its lofty throne;
it rules the ocean of love's domain
as lustful thoughts do its rapiers hone,
and its softest petals do kind hearts lure.

It seems to succor the faithful heart,
fulfill the fantasies of the mind;
but just as its beauty exalts the soul
and spirit to pleasure of senses sublime -
it starts to wither and lose its allure.

But oh, lost love will never forget
the brilliant color and heavenly scent,
the blush of blooming promise true
and silkeny petals opulent
that will other loves forever obscure.

There is something about a rose that stirs the emotions of love! "It seems to succor the faithful heart,fulfill the fantasies of the mind..." Indeed it does, Joyce!

Poemization of sublimity in the "Red Rose" poemized the imagery of the colors of wisdom of the romantic vision.

I salute You, Poet.

One of the best ever in a tribute to the gratest of flowers. And, your photo is extremely elegant. This is lovely compositon... flowing right into our hearts and out and around the reddest of roses. Warm and wonderful. - Bill

It is true that the rose is the symbol of love to all, from it's beauty and scent to the sharp prick of it's thorns it even mimics loves reality.

I have to agree with Victor below

This has to be the finest depiction of the rose and entwined love, that I have ever had the pleasure to read..

Your word usage is sublime, and your aliteration is beautiful

Blessings

The beauty of this poem is surpassed only by the beauty of the rose...or maybe vice versa! A wonderful tribute...
