YOU NEVER KNOW
It’s all fiction, he said.
But then he admitted
”Well, maybe it’s factual”
With a careless shrug:
You never know,
It’s a matter of perspective-
WHOSE perspective,
The tellers, or the ones told to?
While Beethoven drones on;
It might as well be hip hop
For all the difference it makes.
Sitting in the half-light,
Waiting for something to happen.
The problem is
That it never happens
For those who wait for it:
Something about a watched pot.
So when does it happen?
Maybe it never happens,
Or maybe it’s happened already.
I opened up my mind
And this creature
Came tumbling out.
Is it real?
You never know.
