Music: ‘Who Let The Dogs Out’

Several people have recently asked me
Why I have not been posting on A.D.
It’s been a very busy summer this year
Filled with lots of dog-related activities

I’ve hosted several ‘Canine Pool Parties’
All of my dogs love taking dips in the pool
And with the hot, humid weather we’ve had
I’ve found it’s the best way to keep them cool

I have also been attending some fund raising events
To raise needed money, for pet rescue organizations
And very soon, Valentino and I will attend ‘The Mutt Strut’
A yearly event which fills all of the participants with elation

I also very recently took an emotion-filled journey, back in time
To the Gulf Coast, for Hurricane Katrina’s 10-Year Anniversary
It’s hard to believe a decade has now passed since this tragedy
Which changed my life forever, and prompted more rescue activity

And tomorrow begins ‘Adopt A Dog Month’ as it does every year
Far too many truly deserving dogs are now homeless in our country
If you want to save a canine’s life, and meet your next best friend
Head down to your local animal shelter, and set a furry inmate free
