An ode to relationship confusion

Poem Artwork

Tell me it’s not me
Causing these changes that I see
Your eyes look through me
In a way they never have
The way a stranger’s might.

Your words and voice are different
So little to say, it seems
And when words do come
They’re thrown like darts
That hit their mark in this hurting heart.

Once a lover
Now a stranger.
Once a friend
Now a stranger.
Love not for me
But for a stranger.

Sadly, the theme that you present via your verses is a universal and timeless one, Lark. Well done. Love and best wishes to you,

Regis

Man was not meant to be monogamous. So he tends to conquer and move on. That's when the stranger in him comes out. He seeks out the strange and becomes a stranger in the process.
