Just a little ditty

Poem Artwork

I met a little dog

on the bottom of my shoe,

hello little doggy

how do you do - your do?

I'm sure you can explain

this color, by your diet,

was it also on the can

when your owner went to buy it?

Why is your waste so squishy

when I track the home inside?

what was in your dishy

and was it well, before it died?

All these little calling cards

scattered all around,

has no one ever told you

not to leave it on the ground?

If only your poor owner

had the brain power of a flea,

they wouldn't let you leave these messes

lying around for me.....

Very clever, Lark, and a paean that speaks for all of us who wander about, at the local park, in the foggy, doggy-do! My own grrrrryl (Nala, a Husky) was sitting here by my side when I read this and she wagged her busy tail in smiling, tacit approval (she's a very good gurrryl...never picks a spot to take a dump where human feet normally tread!). nd of course every single coat or heavy outer shirt I own has at least two doggy poo-bags in them. Somehow one got tucked into a very expen$ive tux I wore to a friend's wedding! Good on ya, for gifting all of us with a broad smile (in my case, at the end of a long & tedious day, doggone it!). ;)))

Thank you, Lark! I know I want to be this "manly" guy... ...and I am but I throw up when I encounter dog poo. It's beyond me how people can let this happen. Love and best wishes to you,

Regis

Simply lovely and hilarious. You have a special way with poo! Especially the part about what the owner is feeding their puppies––mostly the wrong thing.

Forgive me, but I have to tell you that when my little Pomeranian, Jazz, was dropped on me by a student, he came with a bag of geriatric dog food. Being a firm believer that starvation leads to good health, I continued to feed him that same dog food for the rest of his life. I never gave him treats except his daily milk bone for his teeth. Jazz remained skinny, but extremely healthy and active until he was killed by a big dog that he would've fought if he had the chance. Anyway, he left small dry poopies on the yard. I walked barefoot there all the time and don't recall ever stepping in one. When I mowed the grass and chopped them up it made wonderful fertilizer for the grass.
