For my son David, who is bipolar. I am so sorry for your loneliness in this horrid illness, which even your brothers can't grasp.

I listen, and there is only silence.
I speak, and no one hears.
I cry tears, and no one sees.
And yet, still... I feel.

I miss having someone to talk to
About Love, Emotions, and Life.
The world would be better with
Shared happiness instead of strife.

But no matter which direction I look
My friends cannot be found.
Too many years past
Keeping them homeward bound.

Most of the time I sit alone
And it bothers me a bit,
Because I'd Love to have a friend
Though out loud, I would never admit.

But maybe some day I'll meet one again
And there will still be time to share,
And we won't have to feel 'this way'
Alone, cause no one's there......
