A societal gripe

Poem Artwork

Did you have to honk your horn?
Do you need the whole darned aisle?
Oh, is that your place to park?
Please, don’t look so vile!

Just take that handicap parking space
Those wheelchairs can park out back
So you won’t have to walk at all
Since morals you seriously lack.

You must be very important
To need to go so fast.
Of course you have to hurry
Your kingdom is so vast!

And certainly your child should have no rules
Just let them run and play
With all the bikes and toys on sale
At Walmart or Target today.

Oh, and your dog is very big
And leaves some incredible poop
For someone else to clean up
Cause it’s too low for you to stoop.

The world is your ash tray
How beautiful the butts
When they lie among the flowers
It’s makin’ me nuts!

You wave to me with your middle finger
I got here before you, I’ll try not to tarry.
But you honk your horn just to be loud
And I need to know
Now was that necessary?

Freaking PERFECT, you ought to write more of this stuff, I laughed my, er, uh, well u know, off...I know that middle finger quite well, used it alot when I was younger but now I just flip jerks the peace sign...road rage and such thwarted, my life moves on...but I still save that middle finger for a special expletive as being from NJ you NEED to know of the Jersey wave that your picture is displaying...GREAT write, hon...wanna hear more from you...-e-

Wow! This is the BEST write of the day! This is my daily encounter with life. However the silent Majority is very polite. We just don't pay attention to that other 90 percent. Thank God for them. For if were not for them NO ONE would yield right of way and a 4 way stop would be a "I dare you" contest. Amen!

OMG! Look who's back! And with your sense of humor intact.
Merry Christmas, happy new year, and may 2015 be your best ever!

This issue certainly need to be addressed...too many people...in our societies became...a blatantly rude...tactless...inconsiderate...disrespectful..
That includes the comments...people post on the AD!...think first!!!!....and don't call other writers....the masses!!!!

You are not happy and vocalised...what it really is that makes you upset...and your poem shows it brilliantly...It teaches...how civility and common courtesy work!
Thank you Lark, for sharing your thoughtful and educative verse.

Quite true for I have met many who do not acknowledge the Golden rule.

My thoughts exactly… Your poem resonates well with me.

About those disabled parking spaces. I find that they are often taken and the ones prescribed for vans like mine are often taken by huge pickups driven by old folks who need a short walk to the store but can still climb way up into those things. What I do is park catty wampus across two spaces, so the idiots who can't read "do not park within 8 feet of this side" can't figure out how to park me in. Haven't got a ticket yet, but probably got some stupid looks from people who think that I've parked very badly.

I really enjoyed this write. There are so many people out there that are like that. To many of them I know personally.there are so many assholes out there, the trick is to remember that at one time or another, we've all been asshole ourselves. There is always room for improvement.

Points very well made, Lark. You have a typo in the last verse "the." I make typos often and I am glad when people point them out so I can make the correction. Thank you for sharing this. Love and best wishes,

Regis

Hah! I hear you talking, especially about the handicap parking places, since I am one with a handicap license plate. Way back before that I would never park in a handicap spot. Good seeing you again.

People can be so very inconsiderate of others. You have put it well!

Love ya!
