A historical love story

Poem Artwork

On The Night Of The Dancing Fires
a young woman's heart will awaken
by the hands of a young man
and her own budding desires
'Come, my Star, and run with me
into this magical night, dance with me
beam brightly like the stars above you
dance, my enchanting princess,
into my arms, and let me be with you'.

From his careless whispers & kisses on her face
control was lost in their trembling embrace,
in his arms, all reason was lost
neither was aware of the tragic cost.
Where white lillies bloom in moonlight
a young woman's heart is lost at midnight
forbidden passion bloomed like a dark mist
for she was a temptation hard to resist.

Too consumed to reign in their own urges
too eager to give, to avoid their fiery surges
innocence is driven by a lustful need
they ignored the consequences,
of their wreckless, youthful deed

The reality of a night of passion set in,
two souls joined by lawful sin
starkly clear by the dawning of day
they both knew he could not stay
with deep regret the young man ran away
a young woman is left with a shame she cannot hide
his love in her heart, and his life growing inside.

A young man from a far away land
became the lead in a famous band
where he sings a song of youthful woe
of one hot, restless night so long ago.
On that one night, life's lessons
where painfully learned
when a young couples hearts
were tragically burned
by their own self consuming desires
on the Night Of The Dancing Fires

What passion!...a story that has been told from time immemorial...
You tell it with drama and beauty of words, and weave a certain magic of true abandonment,... into the night of the Dancing Fires....

Well done!!

Only to be regrets later as the passion wiped their senses away for a short time
