Sometime I feel I’m ‘Waiting for Godot’
Perched here on the peninsula of my life
Looking out my window at the bay
Masts moving slightly, gracefully in a light wind
Ocean at my back
Rolling waves that ebb and flow
Like a heartbeat
Keeping time with ancient, eternal rhythms.
The saying goes be, don’t always do
Be patient, be quiet
Listen to the bird song
Listen to the song in your heart
Listen to the breath of life
That precious chi that flows
That moves with no power of one’s own.
The sacredness, the miracle
That has brought me here
On the peninsula of my life
One year before my 7th decade.
In the quiet I hear a sweet melody
And a simple grateful refrain
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
