Writing Thing



It’s a writer’s thing

You just wouldn't understand

Like those words you said

Triggered something in my head

And so I go off again

I see a thing that’s common

And it makes me yearn for more

Feed this writing fire

I’ll be your dirty whore

I’ll watch you go for hours

Doing whatever it is you do

And I will write it all down

And make a story out of you

I’ll sell it to the presses

And make myself a gem

And you will come to see me

When I am famous, my friend

We’ll dine on shrimp and red wine

And listen to the band

Then when it all is over

We’ll start it up again

You’ll walk down the street with that pretty smile

Or perhaps you’ll work so hard

And I’ll be there to log it in

And write a new memoir

It never is a hard thing

The snap inside feels great

I love being a writer

And wouldn't change it for anything!
