Let the alcohol slide smoothly, sweetly, warmingly down your throat
Let the ashes from your cigarette burn you so
Let your feelings be quenched in all that the demons have to offer
You no longer portray rhyme and reason
You are a scorned and mourning loner
Pass down the line every scar
Tell everyone about your shame
Give a face to all that has raped you
To all that has left you in the grey
This is your night to be fearless, reckless without doubt
You have held your hell in so long that it is time to let it out
You inhale that nicotine and exhale more of your soul
Your thirst has been quenched now completely as you find yourself spiraling out of control
On a whim you take the midnight train
Then wander to the tracks
Your life is always on the line
And tonight there is no looking back
As you take another drag
You slam the bottle smashing to its death
You chuckle at the irony and step out to take your final breath
One last burn
One last dance
As another train comes chugging near
And as you are there in your final moments you see it plain and clear
You were destined for your suicide
Destined for this plague
You close your eyes endure the crash
As you're smashed and left in vain
The beginning to an end you see
The Ruin Station wins again
Alcohol, a downer, and nicotine, an upper, seem to go well hand-in-hand in taking that train to destruction. Your poem is so well put that it brings that lifestyle to the forefront.
If you tend to believe romantic, passionate, masculine poetry is a thing of past eras, read "She Intrigues Me," and be swept away in the beautiful craft of a contemporary poet of love.

Clear and in your face. And, in the hand of fate.
