Anxiety Attack

Body being attacked

Monster in the brain

Unseen on the outside

Made to feel guilty when you complain

Fight or flight in motion

Must keep it together for the rest

Trying to avoid the psych ward

Don’t want to go through that again

Medicine doesn’t seem to be doing what it should

But who wants to rely on medicine anyway?

For my hope comes from the Lord

It’s okay though to ask for help

It’s okay to be medicated

At least I am honest about my condition

It’s better than living a lie

Just wish I didn’t feel like I was going out of my head

Just wish I didn’t cry all the time

And feel filled with dread

What really hurts my heart is when I meet someone who understands

It is both a blessing and a curse

Because I hate for someone else to have to endure this

But I know that God puts us together for a reason

And we must pray “this too shall pass”

When it is the proper season

This nightmare will be lifted and we will be free at last

I just want to leave a little note

A note for those who understand

We may not feel it often

But we are loved

And I love all of you

Let us lean on one another

And manage somehow to make it through
