Perhaps on my epitaph I would like this saying of mine, "The only proof there was a me, are the things I've written for your to read". Our words indeed will far outlive us we hope. I still remember quotes in my head from older relatives long gone that stick with me to this day, little phrases they said or a sentence of advice here and there. Wish I had written more of them down but didn't think quite so much of what they said at the time.

Your picture shows struggle in your eyes. And by this poem you are still fighting in spite of the recognition you are receiving. I think it's time to relax and write about other things during this long span of life you have left. Who knows, maybe you'll be remembered for more than your struggles.

I have been writing about my experiences and about how we all can triumph and overcome problems. It would be interesting if, after I'm gone, I would be thought of as a writer. But, human nature being the way it is, I've found that many people have perceived me from a very narrow perspective from a single slice of experience with me. If anything else, my writing will show them that I was and am more than that.
