Poem Artwork

 drumstick

it’s not my place

to know a heart will never forget

in our moments, sad or not

we forget our one refuge

a refuge to explore emotion

to heighten a feeling

to scream and bang and tap

to sing out of tune not knowing

press repeat and do it again

8 track, lp’s, cd’s mp4’s

evolving with feelings that do not

make love to me while this plays

let’s get drunk and crank this up

i’ll walk today to the beat of my choice

i’ll cry and sob, submit it again, i am not done

it makes my delays a tasty distraction

and waiting in line reason to keep quiet

on the bus i’m left alone if it’s blaring

across town orchestras cater to wealth

grandma’s garage made a perfect stage

skateboarding halls brought fearlessness

suzie’s playing piano on the dashboard

acoustics record best in the shower water off

jojo’s banging drums with twigs in the school yard

aunts gathering to hum to that old broken radio

memories shot off by a simple favorite verse

shuffled libraries of collected memories

moods growing flavor when only one can hear

whistled lullaby’s that always seem to rhyme

daddy’s casket lowered to trumpets and tears

pigtail laughter taking ownership of a song

grandpa still minds not the scratches in his lp

gather in an organized fashion

a stumbled fall in the street

add embarrassment and vulnerability

keep facing down

spectators remain unknown

right foot has a twitch

press conference spectators grow anxious

charts dictate your purpose

art directed covers usually photographed

a brick in the wall begins

towards the stairway to heaven

nothing else matters in metallica

on a horse with no name desert bound

there is a joker simply because he’s a toker

and a tiny dancer in your hand

once a king lived to rule the world

and bugs called beatles, crossed white lines

seen at the gates of graceland, on union avenue

candles today in millions after their way at 6 pm

cover up in a blanket of rhythm

hard knocks to the beat of your drum

beauty pose with each new verse including repeats

gimme that beat

gimme that song

gimme my rhythm

gimme my rhyme

gimme my soul

take me to the blacked out blues

twang me a country singer

banjo picked perfectly round

flints lit to show respect and light it up

podcasts filling an i tunes store

you tube in motion can do no wrong

cocaine blues and endless old songs

eminem one take and he’s a wrap

tim with his gallon hat, known as mcgraw

the kid’s all grown up but will never leave rock

sing the song, not trying to sound the same

developing into sexual desires seemingly natural

while evolving into new encounters

confessional ways unable to turn it off

isolated to benefit by individual occasion

a sweet dedication nuclear hot

you will never shake its spell

trying different things

smoking funny things

drinking whiskey from the bottle

making love all night long

seeing their following

burning through the addiction of a beat

grab hold something to keep you grounded

better yet acute your eardrums and take it on

lyrics a must for the karaoke lovers

speed increasing with volume now

you don’t underestimate the power

the power of music

let’s go again.

My teacher, my muse...no longer confused..

My life suddenly makes sense...no more pretense, what a joy my life's become, for this precious soul and tearful rainbow...Kimberly

I never thought this day would ever come my way...for you see, for all my life I had a vision, never knowing why or understand enough for ambition..but then one day, not long ago, my life changed forever when I first read her written glow...not smoke and mirrors, but a place of real tears, for there is no precious, selfless soul such as she..the person who brought me no fears...the world to be changed forever, I now know..

It looks like this rap has covered life and song. Not to my taste, but I get along.
