When I'm feeling down and out, Jesus gives me joy When I'm filled with fear and doubt, Jesus gives me joy When I feel that all is lost, Jesus gives me joy When I feel it's not worth the cost, Jesus gives me joy When I'm filled with pain and grief, Jesus gives me joy When I see no sign of relief, Jesus give me joy Jesus gives me joy In every situation Jesus gives me joy Beyond imagination

Amen, Sister! He gives joy in the presence of suffering, for joy and happiness are not the same. That deep inner joy that Jesus gives brings hope and encouragement to go on, with assurance that our sufferings are never wasted. Someday we will understand, but until then we can still rejoice in the constant love He gives.
