Pages and days turn

Oh father dear father
Why must it be this way
My brave dying sons
Were not meant to go this way

I grab my story tell
As fast steam in anchor bell
A drop from soldier at arms
A cusp of life
We are arm in arm

The heaven gate on morning call
Ten flags of truth on casket fall

Bugler plays
Days and days
Never once did he stray
Truth his burden keep

Sleep soldier sleep

Her hand on bible keeps
Flag placed
Weep if you can
Man of men
man of man

A solace in winter gray
A cry from orders played
Just the wisdom
Smoke passes away

Into the pit of night
A star burns bright
But not for me
On yonder window

Gold ribbon you will not see
On hopes willow tree

Oh father dear father
Why must it be this way
My brave drying sons
Were not meant to go this way

Dear Walter, such a long time since I have read your golden words. My dad has been dead now 11months and this one hit home. Fortunately he talked at some length before he passed, and I will treasure "hopes willow tree".

Question...second to last line..My brave dying sons or drying... never know with you, it may be intentional.

Don't be a stranger! SM

Porque Dije Que No, !Por Eso! by Connie Amarel

A veces no nos sentimos cómodos siendo abrazados o tocados por ciertos amigos o parientes, y especialmente por extraños.
