Poem Artwork

each of us host
a number of
astounding potentialities
wrapped in this
tiny garment of physicality
within us lies the seeds
of the cosmos, stars,
universes, and galaxies
our very own divinity
why shy away, choosing
to be locked in a world
without paint and color
wanting to be
like everyone else
refusing to stand out
refusing to shine
being a master
at limiting the divine
intentionally blocking
its flow, believing you are
never good enough
so clever at playing the keys
of inferiority complex
trapped in resentment
and bitterness
keep on replaying in the mind
i am not like him
i am not like her
i am no genius
my craft is no better
but dear, how would you know
if you didn't even show
that brave heart of yours
just answer that nudge
that call of the higher soul
you may be afraid, but-
trust, you are always guided
every step of the way
listen to that voice
and surprise the whole world
once you unlock within you
ideas, talents, books,
music, harmony, canvasses
some of God's gifts
wanting to be expressed
only through you
waiting solely for you
to have the courage
to say yes
for this is your part
the role that was made for you
so unlock that silliness
dare to dance
come out, play with us
and unveil to the world
your spark-
the splendor of your heart.

I DON'T BELIEVE THAT ANY HUMAN BEING, INDEED EVEN GIFTED VESSELS THEMSELVES, CAN STOP WHAT GOD HAS ORDAINED. GOD, WHO SEES THE BEGINNING AND THE END OF EVERYTHING, 'NEVER MAKES A MISTAKE'. THE GIFT(SPARK) HE PLACES WITHIN A CHOSEN VESSEL CANNOT BE HELD CAPTIVE...BUT IS BEING USED TO THE CAPACITY THAT 'GOD WOULD HAVE IT USED' AT ALL TIMES. FOR, IN THE END, ALL THE GLORY AND PRAISE SHOULD GO TO GOD AND GOD ALONE...AND NOT THE VESSEL. THANKS FOR SHARING. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...HIS+INSPIRATIONS.

Brilliant, uplifting words, inviting us all to cast out
our fears and become the fantastic, powerful, shining
beings that we were always meant to be…

So many, early on by their parents and siblings are told that they are not worth anything that carries through when they get in school, being punished rather than rewarded for trying.

Your poem really describes the masses who want to just get along and go along with what those around them are doing without that spark to go out on their own. A very apt word for your poem title. So descriptive and beautifully rendered.

Even though you don't emphasize the tool of material ownership as a primary measuring stick for many, your poem is a special encouragement, an enlightenment of the inner self that cries out to brave the torrents of flood waters coming from those whose power and influence are derived from being something other than who they really are, i.e., establishing themselves as others would have them, not how truth comes from the kind of checklist your poem projects, would find that to be themselves might be more complex, but, for the effort, ownership of that which cannot be bought--a theme for a poem working its way out in my mind--contributes to the real authentic person, the truly wealthy one. You've penned a calm and compassionate reminder that all should read repeatedly.

Wonderful poetry about individuality as the spark that make us glow. Your message is true. As my son once said: why should I be anyone else? I'm best at being me!
