Guardaldi
My musical friend,
Vince,
Is really Schroeder!
Childhood
Possessed me like
Snoopy,
Who pranced to his music,
beside a diminutive
Piano
With a cheerful baton, or
Skated
At Rockefeller Plaza
In Rhythmic time
with the
Cadences, Melodies,
And Harmonies,
Of a graceful, fluid, serene song.
I was a
nameless participant
In Vincent’s beautiful world
As he carried me through my
Youthful
Charlie Brown Blues
And Ecstasies.
At Fifty-Four
I recall every spring summer winter and
Fall,
With the yellowing of the leaves,
When I cast my Fate to the Wind.
Listening,
to Guardaldi, ever present,
He still
Plays on
Precious vinyl--
Always Essential.
