dedicated to a memory that is just too dear
Tender drops trickled down her face, As the departing train won the race. She waved till it was out of sight, Prayed her father would be alright. Reached home and faked a smile, Thought of papa all the while. Dreamt of him when came the night, Lost his presence in broad daylight. Came his call the following eve, She heard his voice and longed to weep. She held back her tears at each pause, She didn't want papa's eyes to gloss...
