This love poem just won poem of the week at wordsport.com I hope others enjoy it as well.
I waded through a pool
Of sorrow - counting days
Weeks, months, years
Counting the yelps
Of black crows
On white nights
I wondered if love,
That evasive child,
Would ever come?
I covered myself
With soft, green leaves
I covered blank pages,
With desperate words
I left myself open,
To the wind and the rain
Yet nothing happened,
And I became hopeless -
Then a divine accident
Occured, quite magically
Out of the blue,
I met a girl whose heart
Was serene, whose smile
Was like the radiance
Of a thousand sunbursts
And, needless to say,
I fell in love
Feel in love with second husband and am still in love with him after his death. Always have good memories of him. This is good reading and writing, sentimentally yours. Lois
