A Photograph

A photograph, bent and worn with time
Takes me back in my mind
To the day when I saw your face
Your smile, your eyes, your grace
How you moved with ease
How your eyes playfully teased
So long ago in many ways
Yet still today that love stays
But I cannot seek and tell you this
Instead this photograph I do kiss

Photographs are wonderful tools, especially when we use them to brighten our memories. But when it comes to loved ones, the photograph in the heart is the most endearing of all.

It's so sad when we gaze upon the photograph of a loved one no longer with us. For how does one contain unbearable pain?

"And ever has it been that love knows not its own depth until the hour of separation." Khalil Gibran, 1924.

He said it well. And nothing's changed.

But you've captured the essence, Sharon. We kiss the photograph as we cherish the memory in our heart.

This is a very thoughtful, insightful poem. Nice work, Sharon!

Outstanding expression of a vivid memory in poetic grand, through
"A Photograph"
that depicts the poemization of a heart that endures to poetize its beating in love and grace.

I salute You, Poet.
