A cornflower afternoon.
In a border of riotous colour,
the bulbs I planted in spring burst with colour, health.
Grown from whispers, they play Beethoven.
My children, my chorus of singing faces, point to the sky, growing each day.
this is the kind of poetry one needs to read before bed, it makes me smile to think of all the beauty God created, including a grateful heart, thank you
I know that you tend the garden well when you refer to your flowers as, "my children."
My partner is busy in our garden with all kinds of planting and tending. We will have another fabulous bee and butterfly, fresh vegetable, colorful summer.
I imagine what you mean by "riotous colour" is that they are producing or growing in extreme abundance. Like cornflowers proliferating rampantly in cornfields. Nice. Thanks. r
