I was inspired to write this because of a thread started by someone on another site. She proudly posted: “This is No Tolerance for Gays Week," and she proceeded to go on a rant about “Gays.” I am very heterosexual and I was appalled and grossly offended by the post. I am also Christian and I was ashamed to identify myself with her as a supposed- Practicing Christian. This female was online thumping the bible everyday, gloating about her weekly church attendance, and was very vocal about her walk with God and how much she loved Jesus, That is all great and commendable but it made me wonder just how much do people really understand in the bible they tout so boldly. Do they know forgiveness, tolerance, unconditional love and acceptance…no judgments attached. It then occurred to me that it was thinking like this that enslaved a people for 500 years. It was thinking like this that had a people exterminated in a gas chamber. It was thinking like this that made some teens beat a Mexican to death. It was thinking like this that made some high school students beat a man to death because they thought he was "queer." Give me a break. There is no room for this type of dangerous ignorance. Finding Jesus in the jail cell, grocery line, divorce court or in you kitchen doesn’t give you the right to condemn anyone else; whatever it is you may have found, please find some unconditional love and tolerance to accompany it, and for heavens sake leave the judgmental attitude alone. This is my rebuttal. “Love without judgment; we are not perfect beings… not one of us.” One love.
I want to love...I want to love everyone equally without judgment
I still want to love you even if we are not in agreement
I don’t want to love another only because he or she’s a carbon copy of me
Nor do I want to hate another because he or she doesn’t share my philosophy
I don’t want to hate my brother because he doesn’t believe as I do
I don’t want to judge or cast others away like a useless old shoe
I don’t want to cast you away because my beliefs say you are sinners
Because I refuse to believe that we weren’t all born winners
Yes, faithful, we were all born in sin that is my understanding
And we continue to sin in our every day lives- so why are we judging
Sin is sin…your sin is no better or worse than mine
So why put each other down…why can’t we be kind
Don’t tell me that you cannot love or accept a person because he or she’s gay
Tell me, perfect one, do you ever go to God for forgiveness when you pray
Did you wait until you were married to lose your virginity
Was the child you bred, bred in biblical purity
Did you wait for your husband to give away your God given treasure
Or did you forget about the rules and just go for the moment’s pleasure
Do you think you should be tossed aside because you committed a sin
Or do you think that what you did was A-Ok with Him
You talk about Jesus; you are working my last good nerve
You talk about others like there’s some other God we serve
You’re the only one who knows God and what He vehemently detests
You know God inside out; you’re a perfect human- you pass all the tests
Every one else is a sinner- you are religious- yes, you are born again
And it’s now your assignment to point out everyone else’s sin with great disdain
Yes, the Son of God is now your BFF…
You know Jesus better than the good Lord Himself
You’re pimping the bible every day and every night you’re pimping yourself
You now have five little children by five totally different men
Three of them were married and two of them are now in the pen
You once resorted to shoplifting in order to feed those hungry mouths
In that jail cell you found Jesus and I’m happy for you without a doubt
But please save your bible thumping, save that crap for those who don’t know
There’s no need for you to act high or mighty- I’ve been present the entire show
There are ~ Ten Commandments honey- how many of them have you kept
So tell me, what is so difficult that a gay person you can’t love and accept.

You have covered this topic very well. It seems that judging others is just not a Christian practice.
Someone once said that churches were hospitals for the broken and the lost. We go there to become better or well spirtually.
If we are truly Christians, we do not judge one another. Only the Almighty has the ability to do that. Christians are not perfect, but they should try live by the Ten Commandments. We have the right to refuse to allow others to break the Ten Commandments within our own homes. Examples, allowing our family, company, or visitors commit adultery within our homes, take the Lord's name in vain, abuse children, etc.
I think what you are saying here is that we should treat everyone with love, respect, and kindness. However, we can't allow unbelievers to impose their well on us or take away our right to worship God.
