It was 1962 and all the adults were whispering They whispered about some atomic bomb or missiles Those were pointed toward the United States to destroy us The adults whispered that they had to drink heavily There may not be another tomorrow Our sky would redden and large clouds would fill the sky An angel was to come down to take the good While the bad would rot on earth in the burning fire The adults were mad at the President, said it was all his fault Said it was some sort of game he was playing with the Ruler of Cuba I didn’t believe President Kennedy played those types of games But I am not an adult so I don’t really know All I know is that I had a birthday party to go to tomorrow I only prayed that I could go to the party then the world could blow up I just wanted to have some fun before I was wasted No drinking or smoking for me, Pop, party prizes and cake would do just fine for me.
