oftentimes i find my voice not to my liking the sound of it reminds me of prison windows the east river in january or empty lots gardened by slumlords
somedays the mirror tells me to look away that face forever soured by 33 years of 33 years regardless of the joys carefully tended to and nurtured in my soul's nursery
my body has plotted with my mind to overthrow my spirit
over the years as a child ripe with fantasies i imagined my skin peeling back and giving way like a chrysalis to reveal the diamond armor i wore in my dreams and my face my real face would finally agree with me and smile
aging brought me the despairing knowledge of me: i would do no great things i would not be heard and all i would amount to would be what was left to put in the ground
the many pieces of me i have catalogued over the slow and plodding parade of years display a checklist of items that amount to a lesser value than what they equal
it is those moments when i become suddenly aware of one particular part of my body- the tingle of a hair on my arm a slight swelling in my aikido thumb the subliminal tightness of my facial scar- that cause a smile to dawn upon my lips
Akexandre, I think this one is one of your best ones yet! So profound and descriptive of your sentiments and dreams! You are indeed more than it meets the ye and much more than the "by 33 years of 33 years."
Damn man! You are such a truthsayer. I have long labored to express this sentiment and fall far short of this. You have a clarity that is only prevelant in a slight few. I'm glad I'm in a world where I can read your thoughts....
excellent ... esp. the line "forever soured
by 33 years
of 33 years" supremely simplistic way of saying/describing an awful lot, and an awful lot that anyone can relate to simply by reworking the numbers to describe themselves.
alexandre you are a joy, to read, to contemplate...well look at all the wonderful fantasies that you've provided me with no effort on your part at all...you are indeed more than the sum of all your parts. :}

I hurt when I read your words. I checked your profile, and saw that you read the Psalms. I too enjoy them. In fact, I love the whole book. I had hope in the ending of your poem, when you said, "I am more than what I am". It's true, you are so much more than you seem to realize (based on this poem). You are created with a devine purpose and plan for your life. Maybe writing is one of the avenues that will enable you to reach out to people and help someone that has no one. I enjoyed reading this. Thanks for sharing! Love, Leah
This book chronicles an infinite allegoric odyssey of Absolute Awakening in which a learned man, a mute man, and a recluse woman are the principal players. The mute and the recluse are the learned one's Teachers and Guides on his journey of Enlighten
This combined narrative dialogue and play is about the uncreated, unborn and undying transcendent Self of God-consciousness and Buddha-nature. It describes an odyssey of transcendent Consciousness Awakening and Remembrance.
Histories of the world are generally written to either celebrate technology and science, or to herald doom. My book examines the path of the spirit in the onward rush.
God bless, Alexandre!
Sandie.
