I hope this will be closure for you ... I'm so sorry ... ...

Kindred spirit we were, from the heavens, made was a team

Lovely man, sugared to marrow; but for you - you were afraid to yearn it did seem

A man of passion; but for you - you were afraid to dream

A man with a smile that would melt butter, sunlight it would beam

Oh, how I have been trying to formulate the words, the phrases … that won’t seem dim

You were my ebony, honey chocolate knight

Our fiery love was so blissful and felt so right

Our heated hungry bodies sending tremors fitted so tight

Your burning, yearning love I could not fight

And all signs Mother Nature showed us seemed right

Our birthdays one day apart

You, a man who supported my art

You, a man who always thought with your heart

So in synch we were, my sentences you would finish in a dart

I never did imagine we could ever part

In you so much love I had found

For me you were always around

When in the gloomy and gray cloud

You would never let them hound

But let me in joy and peace be sound

You were like the cool breeze in summer’s day, my swain

You were my river running though a desert plain

You were the shoulder were I would lain

You were my shelter from the pouring rain

You were my comfort before the pain

When uncertain and in doubt, all you would stomp out,

Days seemed long, when with you I was without

When around, with joy I would shout

With you the caged tigress was out

No longer in a cage but roaming about

We watched the wild flowers grow

We watched the raving rivers flow

We felt the north wind blow

And we did let nature did run the show

But after a while I no longer could go with the flow

My love I did prove to you

I was kind, faithful and true

For you were my lover, my friend and my boo

You were my moon, my sunshine and I saw the Divine in you

I would never have believed that one day I would live without you

You did touch my heart, body and soul

You never did let us fall; you were pleasing and never gall

For this I loved you with my all and I will always stand tall

But I realized love could not conquer all

Ours was utopian, reality you wouldn’t see at all

But my aspirations and I were growing fast

But my vivacity and I were moving past

My hunger for more was vast

I needed to move on, to grow, to leave my mark, to set my mast

A shadow in us was then cast

I had talents to pursue

I had dreams to make come true

I needed more, I was feeling blue

I needed to grow, getting blocked was my flue

So compatible in love we were, held together with glue

But realized in life compatible we were never

For what you gave me I will love you forever

I’m sorry is I did hurt you ever

I’m sorry, to hurt you I did not mean to never

I’m sorry, but you have to move on for the better.

Good write Sandra, Sometimes people are sufficient when you meet but as you grow older and your vision in life grows wider u gotta cut 'em loose, it's never easy but not easy to give up your aspirations either.

WoW
--- I was feeling such rage at one of my homeboys before I read this!
...

Too many good parts to quote them all but these two stanzas touched me most==>
We watched the wild flowers grow

We watched the raving rivers flow
We felt the north wind blow
And we did let nature did run the show
But after a while I no longer could go with the flow

But my aspirations and I were growing fast
But my vivacity and I were moving past
My hunger for more was vast
I needed to move on, to grow, to leave my mark, to set my mast
A shadow in us was then cast

Bittersweet, like life I guess ...

Sandie a beautifully written poem, even though so sweet a love didn't last, it will always be remembered, and your write did it justice!

Sandra,

Through all of the pain, you are a survivor. I pray this brings you the closure you seek, and don't think of him as the enemy. It just happened; it was meant to be.

A strongly emotional, heartfelt write. Well done!

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla. :)
