The Executioner's Song.

Innovation

Is it
Any secret
Who controls
The outcome
Have you been
Paying attention?
Moles and vermin
You are just taking
Up space where you are
Fettered until held fully
Accountable for what you have
Plotted

How it will end?
The fact you have
Been unaware who it is
Who wears the black cape
Whose court is in the garden
Ironic we let you escape only
To surround you with walls

Prophesy
Sowed wide
By every town
And tower every
Weed and every flower
Every corrupt weevil present
The cause for this upheaval
You dug your hole in the best of
Times

The dark
Origin of
Pop Goes the
Weasel reference
Living in poverty
Stealing pawn to pay
For your food and drink
Weasel with stoat refers
To coat the nursery rhyme
A death chime ringing in the
Garden O' gravel and gavel
Bang the gong water in the bong

Jealous that
We discovered
The innovation
Resentful of our
Garden claiming it
For yourselves cursed
Us and our flower and now
See our spatial Power

Splendid is
The Flower!
It can't be
Replicated or
Mass produced
As a result from
Being banned and then
The day has come to being
Renowned O' justice how sweet
It is to see your nervous frowns
Our phenomena has spread quickly to
All territories and towns

Finally
A societal
Dilemma comes
The soulution
Who it is who has
Watched your collective
Drunken and stoned fable
And guided it carefully
To its demise on judgement day

 Reviews of "Innovation"

I don't know about Judgment Day. Basically that is everyone's death, right or wrong. But I agree that underneath it all our society is coming apart because we no longer address our problems directly but in the fairytale realm of who is the richest of the Joneses around the world, gathering all the wealth of the world to a very few people richer than the richest monarchs who ever lived. And we don't see it coming because we think we have free will when we don't.

A hard-hitting poem that gets at the underlying fallacy that most people believe from the myth of government for the people, by the people, and of the people.

Beside Still Waters by Jill Eisnaugle

Each person is but a grain of sand resting beside the sea. This thought sets the tone for Jill Eisnaugle’s latest poetry collection, Beside Still Waters.
