And I Read A Book

I was nine years of age
It was a big book
I loved every page
Glad I had a look.

That book changed my life
Guided me every day
Through times of strife
I learned how to pray.

I still read that book
For guidance every day
For hope the place I look
For peace I often pray.

I was 25 years of age
I read another book
I loved every page
Glad I had a look.

That book to changed my life
Realized what I could achieve
I could overcome the strife
I just had to believe.

Yes you have to believe in You
And a caring God above
To make your dreams come true
The magic word is love.


Yes a book can change your life
I’m living proof of that
Words cutting like a knife
As late at night I sat.

Wisdom immortalized forever
From those who have gone before
There to share whenever
With a book that I adore.
