you run through sparkling winter dreams
under trees with whispered snows
where the morning sun is star light cool
in the ghost white garden of the moon
your toes so light upon the snow
that scarce a mark is left behind
yet scents are found by cold-starved wolves
who follow in relentless packs
a warm heart beats below furs of white
enticing jaws that bite and snap
yet tirelessly you outpace death
and live to run this race again
while under trees with whispered snows
the white soft shadow runs and flees
quietly treading on soft fur feet
a colorless sculpture in this ghostly place
