A very emotionally-stirring composition. I've always believed that patience is one of the most valuable skills and effective strategies for achieving anything at all that anyone can practice. But as LIFE'S DISAPPOINTMENTS demonstrate, developing it can be very challenging. Enjoyed the read.
A great parallel to the book of the title: Agony and Ecstasy, a book, I sadly did not read but was told about by my twin brother, who has read much more than me.
You made me grateful that I don't have any children. When they don't grow up the way that we had hoped, it can make us really sad and disappointed. Just like some of those that I've taken under my wing from time to time who never even thanked me for my help. There's a lot of "me-ness" in society as a whole, largely brought about by entitlement that really isn't.
And yes, we have to be very patient. Sometimes, having to leave someone you love to suffer on their own until they realize that no one can pull them up from4 where they are by blaming, but only by their own bootstraps. That realization comes very late for some and not at all for others. I hope the former for your daughter.
