CHRISTMAS LISTS

So! Who was nice this year?
And who was nasty?
Who deserves a gift?

Which one of those
Mind numbing, grumbling
Creepy, sleepy
Boring, snoring
Incessantly sweet
And drool on their sheet,
Those
Scalawags; ballawags
Cats are people meowags.
Dogawags; horseawags
Sometimes even snakeawags

Books and talk
And Wine and pork
And turkey to the surfeit.
Beer and rum
And here it come
A raisin loaded cake.
In brandy drenched
And there, entrenched
Our dear old uncle Jake.
There’s people that you meet each year
And some don’t know at all.
And song. you really hate to hear
And give a gift to all.

For if you don’t
Or if you won’t
I know a man who’s shift
Starts with the question
Nasty/nice?
Decides who gets the gift.
